As I was shooting from the bluff, Kit Towne asked if I could shoot a picture of her jumping. It took her ten minutes to get across the river to the launch point, but she didn't waste any time thinking about it, she just ran off the edge.

Touring the Olympic Peninsula
Just north of Queets is the first beach of the Olympic National Park Coastal Unit. The trail to the beach is decorated with these burls that are like tumors that grow on trees. The sign says if salt spray gets in bug holes in the tree it can cause the wild growth seen here. The burls continue growing for years and have tree rings just like the rest of the tree.

Oneota Falls in the gorge with two girls in the pool. The water was pretty chilly but nearly everyone who walked this far went into the pool. It looked four or five feet deep.
